Camogie News
Gortnahoe Glengoole camogie club notes:
Juvenile training continues with great numbers attending U8 and 10 training sessions.
Under 10s
We had a great start of our under 10 season in Ballingarry yesterday morning. Ballingarry had the sun shining for us at the first under blitz of the season. We met Ballingarry. St Pats and Mullinahone and had three very enjoyable matches. Every one got great match time and the sliotars found the back of the net on many occasions. We look forward to the season ahead and our next challenges that are to come.
U12 Camogie training continued on Wednesday evening in preparation for a challenge match this week against Fethard in Gortnahoe. The team will also take part in an U12 Blitz the weekend of April 23rd/24th.
U14 girls had a comprehensive win in Carrick on Suir on Thursday night and the next game in the league is away to Cashel on Good Friday evening.
We congratulate our team mate Eimear Teehan on being selected to play in the primary game during the Tipperary v Clare senior hurling match on Sunday week.
We expect to be taking part in the Feile competition over the Easter break but don't have final details on same yet.
Our U16 team are being badly hit with injuries and sickness at the moment and had to withdraw from Sunday's game against Drom. We played Slieve Phelim in Gortnahoe on Wednesday evening and were unfortunate to be beaten after putting in a great performance especially in the second half. We are due to travel to Templemore on Wednesday 13th April and hopefully will have a few back from sickness and injury before then.
Our Junior girls played Moycarkey Borris in Gortnahoe on Sunday morning and again were down a few to injury. The girls put in a spirited performance but sadly didn't get the win. We play Portroe in Gortnahoe on Good Friday evening at 6.45.
