Gortnahoe Glengoole GAA club would like to extend its sympathies to the Stokes family on the passing of Brendan.

Brendan Stokes played on the Tipperary Minor Hurling team in 1969 and following victories over Limerick & Waterford they lost out to Cork in the Munster Final.

Shortly after this he emigrated to England and upon his return he helped his native Gortnahoe/Glengoole to two Mid Tipperary No.1 Junior Hurling titles in 1983 & 1986.

Brendan was a keen follower of all Gortnahoe Glengoole club teams from juvenile to senior as well as the ladies footballers and loved to chat about the game.

The club will provide the club grounds for car parking and will form a guard of honour. All club activities are cancelled this weekend as a mark of respect. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
